This move comes amidst fierce competition in India where , and Micromax’s aim to become the fifth-largest smartphone maker by 2020. Xiaomi Unveils Mi Band 2 with OLED Display; Step Counter, Heart Rate Monitor for $23

Xiaomi has launched the Mi Band 2 in China, the successor to the popular Mi Band launched two days ago. This new gen Mi Band 2 bears an OLED display to display the time, and also features a Step Counter and Heart Rate monitor. The Mi Band 2 also boasts of a 20 day battery life and IP67 rating. The device will go on sale in China from 7th June 2016 for CNY 149 ($23).

Google Fiber Boxes to Receive Google Cast Support

Google has announced they will be rolling out Google Cast support to all Google Fiber customers over the next few weeks. Just like with typical software updates from Google, this will be rolled out slowly in phases. Google asks you to be patient if you don’t have the ability to cast to your TV because “it’s coming soon.”

Samsung Announces the Launch of Samsung Pay in Spain

Samsung is still expanding their mobile payment system around the world and the latest country to get support is Spain. This marks the first country in Europe to receive the service, now that he has been launched in South Korea, the United States and China. Those with a Galaxy S7, S7 edge, S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ and Galaxy A5 2016 are confirmed to support it.

LG X Series Phones to Launch in the US with X-Men Branding

Samsung did their Iron Man &  Batman special edition smartphones and now LG is joining them with the X-Men. LG is using their X series of smartphones (X Power, X Style, X Screen, X Cam, X Max and X Mach) to coincide with the release of the upcoming X-Man Apocalypse movie. LG matches each device with a different character & they’ve already created marketing material for them.

Users Can’t Set Up Android Pay on the Elephone P9000

It seems the Elephone P9000 is using test-keys that have not been registered with Android’s Compatibility Test Suite. This has resulted in people not being able to set up Android Pay on their device. This is also flagging root checks when it comes to banking applications as well. Google says Elephone will have to fix this manually before these issues are resolved.
